Super Group supported the measures that the South African Government implemented at midnight on 26 March 2020, as well as the procedures implemented by other countries in which it operates, to assist with the containment of the spread of Covid-19.
During the various lockdown periods, the following additional health and safety guidelines and protocols were implemented, which will continue to be enforced post-Covid-19:
Our people
- At all the entrances to our facilities, people’s temperatures are scanned.
- Awareness programmes are in place.
- Self-isolation is advocated when ill.
- Social distancing is encouraged.
- Group meetings or training sessions are restricted <10.
- Hand washing and sanitizer equipment are available to all.
- Additional sanitizing stations were added to the entry/exit areas.
- Engaging more regularly with our OHS provider.
- Covid-19 Compliance Officers were appointed in line with operational requirements.
Our clients/shareholders/other stakeholders
- Only essential meetings are held face-to-face, however preferably held via teleconferencing.
- Everything actioned is done in a manner so as to ensure that high levels of health and safety are maintained at all Super Group’s facilities with minimum disruption to our business processes.
Our suppliers
- Suppliers are kept informed of any developments at Super Group pertaining to health and safety.
- When supplies is delivered they have to comply with all preventative measures put in place at entrances.
- Availability of stock are monitored daily/weekly and stock levels have been increased where deemed necessary in the event of another outbreak.
Our logistics
- Measures have been put in place to prevent unnecessary interaction between truck drivers, truck assistants and operational staff, thus compartmentalising key areas.
Travelling/visitor access
- Super Group issued a formal instruction on 25 March 2020 placing a ban on all travel (local and international). In addition, the Group has restricted any unnecessary visitors unless deemed critical.
- Any returning Super Group employees from international destinations have to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. Employees tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, can only return to the workplace once a certificate has been provided that they tested negative.
- With the easing of lockdown levels, local and international travel continues to be kept to only critical and exceptional circumstances, but where possible, all meetings should be done via teleconferences.
Our customers
- On-going communication and feedback status updates with regard to the Covid-19 situation and the business continuity status were provided.
- Feedback from customers as to their health and safety status will be monitored.
- Ensuring that Super Group continues to provide essential services and products to its customers.
